My Approach

My approach to therapeutic treatment pulls from a range of theories and evidence-based tools. My training has heavily focused on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as Psychodynamic Therapy. The goal is always to individually tailor a therapeutic approach and plan that best meets each client’s specific needs, as there’s no one size fits all. My approach will always begin where the client is, collaboratively build agreed upon goals, and work together to empower each client to meet those goals at his or her own pace. I have been described as warm, honest, funny, and direct. I like to use the concept of “homework;” reasonable objectives for clients to achieve between sessions. Creating meaningful change can be overwhelming. This task helps break down larger, more overwhelming, goals into smaller, less anxiety provoking tasks. Together, we will build on an individual’s strengths to cultivate a therapeutic, working relationship that inspires growth.  My hope is that clients feel a renewed sense of self-worth, confidence, inner peace, and happiness as a result of our time together.
